Episode 7 Live Update Kenya
Richard Hammond and Julia Bradbury are reaching the end of the epic three week global wildlife event. They are following a cast of wild animal characters, and present the latest updates on them as they try to survive the toughest month of the year. In Kenya, Richard updates on Moja the lion cub and the baby elephants. Over in Minnesota, North America, Julia has more news of the black bear cubs. Plus reports on the meerkats in South Africa and the monkeys in Sri Lanka.

Part 3: Ceremony
Historian Dr Lucy Worsley and antiques expert Mark Hill examine objects that are associated with ceremonies. Lucy traces the history of the wedding dress, while Mark discovers how you put the sparkle into a diamond. They also get their hands on an Olympic medal from 1948 and look at memorabilia from a ceremonial event that Queen Victoria called the 'greatest day in our history'.

Dr Lucy Worsley discovers how taking a holiday became something everyone aspires to do, and she also meets a man with a life-size train set. Antiques expert Mark Hill learns how intricate figures are put onto a piece of Wedgwood, and he gets a sneak preview of the Titanic auction.

Part 4: Phoenix Temple
Nicaragua, in the middle of Central America, is home to Masaya; a huge volcano that has been active for over 30,000 years. During its long life it has caused some of the largest eruptions in history. The surrounding landscape has been created from lava, ash and gas while at the centre lies a desolate, empty land. Each time the Masaya volcano destroys everything around it, life returns, re-emerging from the ash at its feet.

Mark discovers the secret ingredient of English porcelain and visits a passionate collector with some very rare objects indeed.

Part 3: Volcano Doctors
Whether the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Colombia, Chile, Italy or Iceland, each of these countries is home to active volcanoes that are a threat to the populations settled at their feet. To avoid disasters, volcanologists are asked to anticipate and warn, they are asked to be prophets and to know how to analyze the volcanoes’ slightest tremors. Around the world, these volcano doctors use their tools and knowledge to try and protect those who live in the path of the Earth’s fire.

Part 2: Ash Runners
On a remote island of New Britain, animals and plants have learned to live with the sporadic anger of the Earth. In this apocalyptic realm, when the ash created by volcanic eruptions invades their habitat, the choice is simple: leave or… stay and face the unknown.

This incredible detective story and careful reconstruction of one of nature’s most impressive mammals showcases just how technology can help the natural world survive, as well as help us to learn more about it. In Raising Big Blue, we follow Canadian scientists as they uncover a buried skeleton of a blue whale and put it back together for display in a prominent museum. But it's not as simple as it seems – from washing ashore on Prince Edward Island (PEI) in 1987, to arriving at its permanent home at UBC’s Beaty Biodiversity Museum last year; the scientists’ project is one of the toughest of its kind. First they need to locate the buried whale, develop a method to clean the appalling stench from the bones and put all the pieces together. The film crew followed the project for three years and documented how the skeleton was first revealed during a preliminary dig in PEI, the triumphs and setbacks of the excavation, and the mystery of the missing flipper that threatened to unhinge the three-year project. We’ll also learn how scientists found ways to clean and degrease 20-year-old whale bones saturated with rancid oil; reconstruct a giant skull that had been broken into dozens of pieces; and transport the 85-foot exhibit into the museum’s glass atrium.
